Mecco care

Boarding

Travel plans should not mean leaving your pet with uncertainty. Our boarding service keeps pets comfortable and watched over by an animal health team, with veterinary care immediately to hand if anything changes.

What to expect

Boarding that comes with veterinary cover

Leaving your pet while you travel is never easy. What sets boarding at Mecco apart is that your pet is staying inside a veterinary clinic. Someone qualified is on site, and if your animal becomes unwell, develops a limp or refuses food, the problem is caught and treated early — something an ordinary kennel simply cannot offer.

We accept dogs and cats for short and longer stays, and we will be honest with you about what we can and cannot cater for, so that you can plan with confidence.

  • Daily feeding to your pet’s usual routine and diet where supplied
  • Fresh water at all times and regular attention or exercise
  • Medication administration for pets who need it
  • Veterinary care immediately on hand if anything changes

What to expect when your pet stays

1

Booking and health check

Boarding is arranged in advance and subject to availability. We ask about vaccinations, diet, temperament and medical needs, and may require an up-to-date vaccination record before arrival.

2

Drop-off

You bring your pet and their food or medication, and we confirm the details of their routine and stay. We agree how and when we will contact you.

3

During the stay

Your pet is fed, watered, cleaned and given attention daily. Any change in appetite, mood or health is noted and acted on promptly.

4

If something changes

Because we are a clinic, we can examine and treat small problems straight away, and contact you on the number you leave us if a decision is needed.

5

Collection

We hand your pet back with a short summary of their stay and any treatment given, and settle any outstanding balance.

Before you book

Tell us everything that matters: how your pet eats, whether they take medication, how they behave around other animals, and how they handle being away from home. The more we know, the better we can care for them. Please make sure vaccinations are up to date — this protects your pet and every other animal in the building.

Book early where you can. Space is limited, and popular travel periods fill quickly.

Follow-up and honest limits

If your pet needed any treatment during their stay, we will explain exactly what was done and arrange follow-up if required. We keep it straightforward; you will never return to unexplained charges or unrecorded care.

Boarding is not intensive care. Pets who are acutely unwell, who need constant monitoring, or who are highly aggressive towards handling may be better served by a different arrangement, and we will say so rather than accept a booking we cannot manage safely. Honesty here protects both your pet and our other guests.
